Fished Deer Creek yesterday with my son and grandson. Started at about 6:30. The launch was a little dicey. My grandson caught the first fish, 6" smallmouth. After that it was really slow. We keep moving around looking for fish. Finally after about an hour we started to find some on the far side below the tracks. We ended up with about 30 smallmouth and one walleye between the three of us. All were caught on worms except a couple on a curly tail and one on a Panther-Martin. A few smallmouth were close to 12" and the rest were smaller. The 13" walleye was the only fish that went home with us. (lunch today) We had to leave at 11:30 as I had to be in Sandy by 1:00. Getting the boat back on the trailer was easier than I thought it would be.

The launch was shallow and on muddy gravel. As I was backing in the trailer dropped into a big hole. But not deep enough to float the boat. As I backed further back I pushed the trailer up the other side of the hole. I was afraid to back to much further out because I didn’t want the truck to drop into the hole. It was still to shallow to float the boat off but my son started the motor and powered off the trailer. When we came in I was a little closer to the dock and missed the hole. So, we had very little problem. The ground is more solid than it looks. I didn’t sink or spin. But I did have the truck in 4 wheel drive.
