Had a great day out at Deer Creek Saturday with my brother. Launched down by the island around 12:30 and fished for about 4 hours. It was a little sketchy getting in and out but we got er done. The wind was blowing pretty strong from the dam side of the lake so we trolled from that end to the other twice. I used my trolling motor to keep our nose straight, but other than that we were pretty much drifting. Used dodgers and worms in about 15-20 feet of water and caught big fat rainbows all day. Ended the day with a nice double. Most fish were about 18" and very healthy, kept 5 and smoked them last night…mmmm tasty. My wife had the camera so no pictures.
Thanks for posting your report Goodtimes, sounds like the catching was good for you at DC. Were there any other boats on the lake? Welcome to the site. WH2
Off and on throughout the day there were about 4 or 5 other boats, but it pretty much felt like we owned it.
Did you have any problems launching or retrieving your boat? WH2
I launched and retrieved my boat on the north side of the dock. It was easy lauching but coming back in took a little more effort. I had to get a little wet getting the boat on the trailer all the way, but no real problems. It was all worth it!
