My Nephew is in town for a week from AZ. He loves to fish, needed to take him fishing somewhere close today because I have to work the night shift tonight. I chose DC thinking we could catch a few. On the lake at 9:00 am 1st stop just a few bumps no fish started to feel a skunk coming on. Moved to my next stop caught a bunch of dinks smallmouth and some OK fish at least 10 maybe 20 between us. I got sick of the small fish change to hard baits 1st cast “bam” a 2lb. largemouth. Moved to our 2nd spot nephew still using softbaits and catching dinks with a nicer one now and then, I would catch a dinks also but not as many caught 2 really nice sm.
We moved from the main ramp to down pass the island stopping at spots on both sides of the lake that I thought would hold fish only two didn’t. By 2:00 pm had to call it a day I had boated eight Lg mouths biggest 3+? lbs. to many SM to count and 1 green sunfish that the nephew caught.
I talked to a group on the lake that caught 10 Perch, 1 walleye and a few sm bass trolling for trout that wouldn’t bite they said. I would of liked to had the time to change tactics and chase down some perch and walleye. DC was very impressive today.
