Took my wife, son and his girlfriend out fishing for the day. It was a cool 17 degrees at the lake when we arrived. As the day went on it got a little warmer with a small breeze. The catching wasn’t real fast from shore, but managed to catch four and loose three other fish. The biggest fish being two and a half pounds. The DWR officer patrolling the lake talked to my group right at dark. When I asked him how the fishing was for everyone else, he told us we had done the best. I asked him about the boaters, and he said he hadn’t checked them to know how they were doing. We were using a worm and marshmellow on the bottom, about twenty feet from the bank. I wanted more for my smoker, but felt happy to bring home the few we caught. May make a trip after turkey day, to hopefully fill the smoker for some good smoked fish for the family x-mas party.
I was up there too, at the island facing the docks.I Caught a 15" and nice fat 17" Rainbow. Threw a little Dink back and that was it. Bye 10:30 the bite was off but Fishing is getting better up there. Ive been every week for a month and it’s been tough to say the least. I didn’t have any luck with a Worm and Mellow but maybe I should have stuck with it and, I could have casted in a little closer this time a year which I wasn’t doing. I talked to a guy at Noon that fished all around the lake and he and his two sons didn’t even get bites. I seen a Long Tail Weasel that has changed over to his Winter coat of White which was pretty cool, He came down to see what I had on the stringer then see me and he was off. Tried my best to just start snapping Pictures of him and this was the best one.
Thanks for the report. Getting cold out there…
