anybody have any info on kaysville and or holmes creek or any of the other ponds about ice or open water
Holmes Creek is almost empty of water.
Don’t know how the ice is though.
Syracuse is capped but the ice is thin.
There are 2 spots that one or two people could fish open water.
Meadow Creek Pond is also capped with very thin ice and it may be thawed out by Monday.
It’s closed for now because of unsafe ice.
Bountiful is capped and I saw someone ice fishing by the ramp on Saturday afternoon.

Is Farmington Pond open to ice fishing?
I remember reading that it closed in the winter but I don’t think it’d enforced. A liability issue would be my guess.

Do you know what level the water was at according to the long concrete graduated strip on the dam? If your just going by looks it can be deciving.
I am always able to fing about 24’ of water in winter at Holmes over by where the creek comes out of the cove. It can stay that way all the way to the dam on the east 1/3 of the main section. The west side is more like 15’.
I checked my logs and when I can find 25’ of depth the concrete strip enters the water at it’s 40’ mark.
holmes creek if it is by the golf course i get them mixed up there where a group of people ice fishing on saturday.over on the south side.

Holmes creek or some know it by Companies pond is not empty. I just drove by it the other day. It was completely capped and someone was ice fishing it. With this warm up the last few days be careful. Besides if it was empty I would be up there looking for my Blackberry storm I dropped through the ice last season[;)]
Not empty, very low, like 8’ of water, was the report that I got.
If you see deeper water, as you are ice fishing, please update us.
I hope that there is more water but I believe my source.
I guess I’ll have to go up there tomorrow and see for myself. I go by the guage on the dam, that is what it is there for.
I just went by there and walked around. Ice was extremely sketchy and I didn’t dare venture out on it. I will say it looks to be down 8 to 10 feet from last winter.

I walked out on Maybe pond today in Clearfield. I did not drill any holes but it held my 200 Lbs butt up. I am sure you could fish it. I saw people catching them through the ice there last year.
My son and I hit Companies pond from about 2:30 to 4:30 and iced 10 rainbows or so. Missed alot of bites and saw alot of swimmers on the fish finder. The deepest water I found was 15.8 feet. Ice ranged from 3 to 6 inches. We felt comfortable about the ice but, most of all some quality time with my boy[;)]
Syracuse Pond is capped and there were 2 guys ice fishing it this afternoon.
I asked them how thick the ice was and they told me that it was only 2" to 2 1/2" thick.
I fished highland glen a few days ago. I tried all over the entire pond and never saw a fish on the finder. Just a little bad luck. A beautiful day to fish. The ice was four to five inches thick.
