We hit the Nell this morning and it was cold…
Yes all the ice is off the lake, the temps was 25 when I got there to launch…
No boat docks are in so it launch the best you can, A friend was going to show up at 8:30 I got there at 7:30 and tried to launch by my self the rope I tied to the bow broke so my boat was floating out in back of my trailer…
I was lucky in one way the wind was blowing back at the ramp…
I went to graff some spots to see how much water was on them (and look for fish) I found a few bows, Looked at my watch and had to head back for the pick up…
We used gulp minnow to catch all that we did about 15 to 20 bows and one brown and two chubs no big ones this time but it was still better then nathan in the cold wind…
See…sometimes that north wind is good for something. You coulda gone swimming for that boat if the south wind was blowing. That has happened before.
Sorry the fish were not more active. Maybe next time. Bad days make you appreciate the good days.
Hey cliff did you get into anything descent up there? How deep were the browns?
The brown was about 15" and the bows was about 12 to 15" we did lose a couple that felt bigger but we didn’t see them…
All fish was 20’ or less, the wind kepted us from trying for bigger fish…
TD yes I was glade for the north wind, the people who was fishing on the ramp thought I planed it…[;)]
Thanks for the info. When do you think the bass will really turn on there?
The bass should move up or stay up more when the perch are done spawning, water temps should be around 50 to 52…
