Hit Causey today. Started fishing at about 10:15, left at about 1:15. Between about 11:45 and 12:15 we were on a school of salmon and caught two dozen ranging from 9-12 inches. Didn’t get a bite otherwise.
We were in 30 feet of water, using jigs tipped with wax worm. Salmon were 10-15 down.
I was heading up there last Friday but my plans changed and I wasn’t able to fish anywhere that day. I am hoping to get out this thursday and would love to get back up to Causey.
How were the conditions?–roads, and ice access.

Nice report, thanks for sharing it. Not many folks posting their report from Causey this year[frown]. Congratulations on doing so well. Were you using a fish finder to find them or did you just hit the right spot the first time?

Good job finding the kokes, I am yet to catch one out of there have no problems finding the trout. How was the ice
I am hoping for at least one more ice trip up there before softwater begins.

A few inches of slush around the edges. Looked like the ice was easily a foot thick. There was maybe 4 inches of snow on the ice itself. Roads were great, except for way up towards the scout camp.
We did have a fish finder, but the kokes came to us. We used the same holes the whole time.
The great day came with a cost. One of our group lost his new iPhone down the hole. Expensive chumming.
