I was thinking of going to catch a catfish for the first time at Santa Ana River Lakes and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to fish 'em. I heard that flylining a chunk of stinky old mackerel works great. Any other ideas?

Do you recommend a knee high or an ankle high sock? Just wondering so I know which size hooks to bring.
