We fished up around Anvil Saturday morning and it took us awhile to find some fish but once we did it was non stop action. While trying to get our limits of Kokanee we had trouble keeping small lake trout off the hooks 
not a bad problem just took extra time to get our limits. Over all we each caught our limit of Kokanee which I thought most the fish were in the bigger koke size and we quit counting how many small lakers we caught prob close to 20 and we caught prob as many trout too. Hot lures for us were pink dodger with any kind of spinner behind that but mostly squids with a spinner in pink/orange/purple didnt seem to matter. Our biggest kokes came from 70ft deep but we caught most of them in the 50ft range. We tried using a lead line rig as we had 3 fishermen and only two downriggers and the only thing we got on the lead line was trout couldnt get it deep enough I guess for the kokes. We mostly worked the east side of Anvil. We tried for some small mouth but never did get any. (Kokes are already in the smoker )

More often than not, when you pick up that any small lakers, you are running a little to deep. Come up a little and this should help you to stay away from the lakers. They can be really pesky.
