6/26 Mantua bluegill report

Hit mantua early thursday morning with my daughter and my dad. First time fishing for the gills and let me tell you the action was packed. Started out fishing with tubes and jigs tipped with meal worm or just “normal worms” while floating a couple of lines with a worm and a bober. Jigs an tubes were not producing so started just fishing off the side of the boat with bait hooks with worms. We were there for about 3 hours and cought 46 gills and 2 large mouth. It was awesome. At one point action was soo fast my dad and I were baiting hooks as my daughter reeled um in. I recomend this lake to anyone with kids. The down time isnt long enough for them to get bored. I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who responded to an earlier post asking for advice for bluegill.

Sorry I didnt get any pics!!

hey joshua, great report! You’re right, that lake can be a fun time especially when you bring the kiddos.

Looks like it took a while for the action to heat up. Heading there in the a.m. on my yellow 'toon; hopefully the wind will be non-existent and there won’t be too much of a power crowd. If any BFT’ers make it out there, don’t hesitate to say hi.
