#32 Tutorial

This was requested on the Utah FF board, but this is FLY TYING forum so here it is.
Here is a list of material. You can use Snow Shoe Bunny feet (hair between the toes). I use the Para Post because it is less money, easier to work with, and my wiener dog won’t eat the para post material

Fibbets white, black thread 14/0, and white para-post

Use thumb nail to push tail fibers up:

Tie the Para Post material in WULFF Style. Figure 8. I also wrap each post a couple of times.

Here it is with the wings clipped:

OMG that fly is small.

Peter

That looks great and not too difficult to tie. What is that fly called?

After catching some nice fish on small flies this past year, I’m becoming a believer! I used to fish 14’s and above but now I’m venturing into the 18-22 sizes.

It is just a snow fly. Also in Brown and Gray.

try holding it while trying to see the eye so you can feed the tippet thru.. LOL…

Yeah, in ice cold wind and your fingers frozen cold

Peter

actually thats where the magnetic fly threader DR mentioned before comes in handy…

I’ve heard good things about that threader and this is the first year I’ve started using reading glasses (reading not fishing yet) so one of those gadgets will be on my vest soon.

its worth the money for sure… it makes what could be an ordeal an easier task..

MacFly :sunglasses:

Going to need a 10x to be able to thread that eye. Remember the 3 rule.

Only on paper DR…I use 6X.

You can get a 6x through a 32 eye? I’m lucky if I could get a rope through the eye of one of the Queen Mary’s anchor. Ah to have young eyes again.

I do use magnifiers, but the 20/20 magnetic threader does work also.
