Wind Rivers Fishing Camping Hunting

What has become an annual late Oct trip to Wyoming happened again last week.. Stayed at Fremont lake near Pinedale in the Campground. Hardly a person there - wonder why, as it was often in the 20 degree range with winds - good old Wy - love it. Stayed 6 days. Chased ruff grouse with my Dads old vintage 22 pistol. Got a few. Love cooking/eating them. Fished a few places. Best was New Fork for bows with silver bling and bait. We often find lakers coming up shallow this time of year that add some fun but none on this trip. Stream fishing was okay but nothing notable. The mountian man museum in Pinedale is worth stopping in at. Buckwheat’s elk tenderloins were awesome. and we spent a few hours in a wonderful hot spring way up Granite creek. ya’all got to do that. Great way to kick the chills. Lots of Moose and deer. Great trip even though my 4x4 is still acting weird so we avoided some places I wanted to go.

Here is a video link - it is longer than normal as it was 6 days.

Not sure why that one just popped up being a year old, but was still fun to watch, looks like you had a fun trip… Thanks Cowboy and crew…Hope all is still well for you guys and you’re getting ready for a new trip like that this year… Later J

We love that trip but some school responsibilities and extra days doing security have conflicted this year so we are planning a couple shorter versions closer to home. We are headed out Friday. Likey a morning run for cats at willard

Sorry bout the change in plans, but hopefully it will still be good… I did a little sighting in of the ole rifle last night… It hit pretty well for open sights, other than when I started getting flinchy… Man I’m such a whimp after I get kicked good… Going old school on the deer hunt this year and hunting the Cache unit with open sights only… That’s going to be interesting, I probably can hit futher shots with my muzzleloader with the scope than I’ll be able to hit with a .308 and sights… Probably won’t have to worry about taking anything home this year… Anyway hope the cats come to play for you Saturday, guess you’ll be hearing some booming going on with the duck hunt opener that morning… Fun time of year, kind of wish this weather and good times would last longer, maybe I just need to take time off work and enjoy it better… I think it’s getting time to look closer into retiring… Later J
