Saturday afternoon promised unsettled weather that sometimes seems to get the fishing going. We arrived just as the first big wind came and caused a little rush to get off the lake. So we hung out and waited for those folks to get clear so we could get a launch. Wiperhunter2 joined us on this run and is a long time veteran of Willard Bay and the unpredictable spring fishing there. The wind let up and we were able to try with out success for some crappie in the north marina. We tried the outlet in the nw corner. Finally opted to troll some cranks and picked up a wiper way out in the lake from the north marina. The second big wind wore us down and we went in and fished for crappies. There were about 40 people in the “hot” spot where we saw a nice walleye taken and roughly a dozen crappie caught between the group. Just not the hot action. It was late and time to go but I bet the crappie bite went on into the night. I posted a picture of the wiper and a video of some casual trolling. The 9.9 merc is a long shaft with auto pilot that when the going gets really rough has to be baby sat or it gets lost. But when the waves start breaking over the front it usually is a good time to go to the marina.
Looks like good times! [;)] You didn’t get skunked and good times with good company.
thanks for posting was wondering if you where out fishing Willard.

Yea, it was a tough bite. We tried trolling with side planners right up in the rocks but no luck, tried our secret lure, no luck but at least I did not lose one this time[;)].
Thanks for the trip Dan and Christie, it was a wild ride.
Could you please change fonts in your posts.
At my age and with my eyesight, it’s very hard to read your post.
Thanks,
DKS.

I love fishing…
We saw you guys we were in a small inflatable raft coming into the marina as you were leaving it [;)]. There were three of us on there. We only got a couple small crappie from in the marina
Just a little info for you and the vision impaired like myself. If you use firefox browser it has a sweet little option you can use to zoom.
Hold down the CTRL button Then zoom in and out with your mouse wheel it works great and it’s fast. That will help you with different font’s that you can’t see very well. And anyone can post the way they would like.
On Firefox you can also set the zoom in + and - keys on your toolbar. In View under Toolbars just choose the Bookmarks toolbar. It is on there.
Under View and then Zoom you can also set it to just zoom the text or to zoom both text and pictures.
Very nice feature!
If you, or anyone else has this problem again… (font too small).
Try pressing “ctrl” and the “+” key at the same time (on your keyboard).
This should zoom in on the window and make it easier to read. You can REALLY zoom up with this feature. Keep pressing the same keys to keep zooming in.
Once you are done reading the small text - you can press
“ctrl” and “-” (minus) at the same time. It will zoom you back out.
Sorry for the redundancy - I posted this before reading the last few posts on this thread.
