Hit the Willard today got there early… To early. South gate was closed. Launched at the north marina. Went to freeway bay and got one lonely wiper. I threw the hole repetoir at them for just one fish. Crossed over to the north dike and got another wiper getting there. Hit a bunch more dink Walleye on the north dike. The odd bluegill or 2, and a bonus smallie. Kind of a great day except we got off before the zoo and we were one wiper shy of a limit. Kept 2 small eyes to replace the wiper instead. Spent 6 hours on the lake. Nap time.
Looks like you did pretty good. We started with a battery melt down so had to make a Wal mart run and ended up not getting on the water until 8:30 then we were slow getting going. Ended up with Cateyes 2 cats 3 eyes and a bluegill. Finally think I had a wiper hit on my 2nd rod but wasn’t paying attention until my rod about went overboard. I tried to loosen the drag as my 6 lb line went snap. Dang it that was a new rapala too. Maybe next time I’ll get my first wiper. Glad you got such a pretty batch of fish nice job. Seemed a lot slower than last week to us but I did see lots of fish being caught. Anyway maybe we’ll meet next time. Later J
good to hear someone was getting into fish we were on the water at 600 and didnt even get a bump we left at 11 nothing that gave me prior luck worked i guess i just need more practice good on ya for getting in to them
I was trolling at .9 to 1 miles an hour in exactly 12 to 10 feet of water right off the north dike with worm harnesses for the walleye. Chartreuse or white, four beeds, and silver blade. All off the north dike. The wipers were all 14 feet or deeper water. All caught off silver or silver black rapala shad-raps. The lures were 5 feet deep for the first wipers and at 8-9 feet deep for the last 2. The speed for the wipers was 1.8 to 2.7 miles per hour. Slower in the morning faster past 9 am.
