Willard report

Set out for the Willard South Banks yesterday around 2:00 PM. The water was calm water temp was 69 deg at the shore line. Lots and I mean LOTS of bait at the shore line. The water is also very murky, Stained with the rain from last week end storms. Very few Wiper doing there thing on the bait.
I was really hoping thing would pick back up. I have fished the boils for some years now and usually when the bait is there and there is no moon or no storms approaching the bite is on! Not this day. A few Wipers boiled near by maybe 3 or 5 in a group, lasted only a few seconds. Not enough time to get there.
On the bright side we baited up with some cut chubs and caught a few catfish. That was a hoot, and kept us busy while waiting and watching. Nothing big to brag about.

I am very impressed by the amount of shad. WOW clouds and clouds of them all along the shores. They are 1 inch to 3 inches in length. If the warm spell continues the water will get warmer and the Wiper should wake up. I hope.

Oh well at least you got to play with some Kitties. Those kitties sure do taste great! Thanks for the detailed report. I might be done with Willard for a while. I really want to try it ice fishing this year though.
