Willard friday

Got bait and I hit willard for 3 1/2 hours this afternoon. Pulled harnesses down the west dike and the east side.
Not so much as a touch. Water temps were down from what they were last monday. East side muddy west side clear.
Guess we’ll find out what the weekend will bring.

Simple info but good info … thanks for sharing.

hi roger good seein ya out there on the water sorry to hear ya didnt get anything my son ended up with nice 4.6lb wiper while trolling i had a bite but didnt get to it on time this weekend should warm the water up nicely!

Same here… same results, nothing. We hit the Bay at dawn. Muddy to the south of the marina because the wind was blowing from the north. We threw off the rocks just north of the south marina where the water was clear.

Lots of water… I think its at capacity or real close.

That is really good news,Next time out try trolling right on the dike.all the bait fish that are left are in the rocks and the wipers are just off shore waiting for them to dart out from the bank.as your boat passes it scares the minnows out off the dike and you can bet the wipers come in close after you pass to pick them off.I can’t wait to get out there sunday and troll the dike it’s going to be a great year for trolling close to the dike this year if your just trolling open water your missing out on some great catching.try black back with gold body wally diver bumping off the rocks for wipers, smallmouth and an occasional crappie or wallaye you wont be sorry after you learn how use this method.the trick is having your lure ticking off the rocks and most of the time your not out very far from the back of the boat,I have done well just out past the prop wash.[;)] If you find a spot that you keep catching fish dont be affraid to stop trolling and cast some shad raps or small rapala’s in gold and black into the shore focusing on casting your lure as close to the rocks as possiable and ripping it off the shore fast using a reeling and jerking action so the lure darts and rolls.Wipers love the chase and you cant reel fast enough to get a bait away from a wiper that wants it for lunch.[;)] I have caught my biggest wipers this way and lost some fish I wish I could have a least seen. You will know what I mean when you hook up and the fish heads straight for deep water.

Thanks for the reports keep them coming.
