I only KNOW one thing about Willard Bay. Don’t fish post front.
One thing I have learned about Willard is by the time you hear about good fishing it’s done. You just have to fish and hope your there on a good day. And what I’m thinking is it is not good after the wind has blown.
The wind will really stir up the lake and make it turbid so use bright colors until the water clears up. the other things is post storms you do need to wait a few days for the fish to start feeding again.
For the word on the boils I have heard second hand that they have been boiling for weeks but there the small 10-14 inch fish and they are very picky on what they hit. Also if your lucky you can get into day time boils but early (before the sun comes up) and the last hour of the days has always been best for me when there boiling.

Headed up there tonight with the wife, hopefully the fishies have had enough time to rest!
I was up there on Monday. Didn’t post up because I forgot my camera and there wasn’t much to report. It was windy, the water was very turbid, fishing was slow. I caught a total of 3 fish, two dink wipers and one that went 20". That one came on a SR7 in chartreuse 60’ back from the board. No walleye. I ran everything from Thin Fins at 4’ to Wally Divers at 13’, every color from firetiger to black/silver at speeds from 2.5MPH to 3.2MPH. Water temp was 73F-76F.
The water may till be murky. Rapala SR5s are usually a good place to start. In murky water, I’d recommend using a rattling crankbaits.

Well a Bad day fishing is still better then a good day doing most anything. Sometimes you just have to go and not worry about the effect of weather. I still had a good time.
I was out there at 6:30am this morning. Not a darn bite on different cranks, jigs, plastic worms, and real worms. Willard got me this time but that was my second time there so, I’m still a rookie.
I guess the memo wasn’t sent to me. The fish were very uncooperative. I’m guessing the windstorm last night kinda messed things up. The water was very dirty. I caught one catfish. We talked to about 6-7 other boats and they hadn’t had any luck. Tried many different crankbaits in many different colors. It was a beautiful day. Hopefully I will be able to go on friday and the fish will be cooperative. When does the boils start and do you see them much in the morning.
