Long story short - me and my step dad arrived at 630 pm and by 9 pm had 30+ wipers. Boils started slow but then the switch was flipped and the water was on fire, at 1 point I had 5 fish in 6 casts. caught em on top waters and modified castmasters. We had our boils to ourselves all night, sure was fun watching them there bank tanglers running up and down the dike slaying the wipers. We did invite two guys trolling in on the action, they were throwing deep diving cranks so we tossed them a spare spook we had and they joined in on the fun.

NICE! Sounds like ya got into 'em good. That’s cool that you had your own boils. I’ll bet there were a lot of boats out. Curious if they stayed up long, or if you had to move around to find different boils?

It was awesome, well yesterday the ogden area was windy with gusts up to 40 mph, around 4 pm the “w” calmed down to about 20 mph so i was worried willard was gonna be rough, well when we launched at 630 wind was a little breeze that eventually turned to flat smooth boiling wiper water. AS far as a lot of boats, this was not he case, i saw two different boats trolling and a few water skiers, seemed like everybody was on the otherside of the lake. The first boils last a few minutes but right at sunday we had one that lasted about 35 minutes where we pulled a dozen or more. The boils were bigger and lasted longer than they did tues night.
My modified castmaster has a better hook and some flashy jewelery.
My buddy who came out with his wife was after his first wiper, well he pulled up to us right when the boil went down, nothing happened for another 15 minutes so he headed to another spot where we had seen them and sure enough right when he leaves the water erupts and the boil was on, i texted him but he never made it back til it was dark bummer deal but he was able to see us catch some.
Willard is hot, we keep four fish for the fryer. Fish ranged from my solo small 16 er to the average 19 to 22 incher with the big guy of the night that was 24 which was released.
Me and my father in law was the lucky person that you gave the top water bait to. We were very thankful for the invite to join and the lure. I will have to get some top water lures. You would think when you have spent as much as i have to outfit yourself for fishing this year you would be good to go. Little did i know. LOL Get a boat and the money keeps burning a hole in the pocket. I was trying to be respectful and ease up on the outside of the boil and get within casting distance without disturbing/crowding them and they invited us to get closer. Kocha - good luck friday i am headed to omaha as i am in my buddies wedding. I will be missing out on the action til tuesday when me and catman head for east canyon for a bass-massacre at east canyon then another sneek attack boil busting at Willard. I did see the fly guys out yesterday i believe they were fishing the west dike. My goal is to catch one on a fly rod, i will prolly pack it out on tues night.
Goose - i should have invited y’all in earlier but man its hard to stay focused when those boils are popping off. Your welcome for that lure, dont troll, throw that top secret magic money “lure” and it will pay in many fish nights.
Man those boils were just awesome. Glad you guys didn’t get the willard skunk, nice to meet you and see ya on the water!
I would also like to personally thank you as your were very courtious and respectful about the boil wish more people had your respect, but ya most people are more than glad to share and work the boil together, biggest thing is to cut the main motor and just try and coral and push the boil, kind of a team work thing to keep the fish going and not shutting the boil down.

Way awesome we pulled the plug on our fishing plan because of the “W” but now I wish we would have gave it a go anyway maybe tonight…Great job on the catching I am new to the catching of these wipers and have only caught a couple but man I cant imagine catching that many and how sore your forearms must be after those freight trains pulling on ya great report
Not gonna lie i didnt expect much but the wind just went flat calm and water was glass the last hour, the wind from earlier in the day probably kabooshed a few guys getting out, good deal for me less traffic more boils and no dumb *ss jack wagons running through the boils.

I am so glad to hear that there are still Wiper in the bay. I have had a hard time finding the boils. We went out last night to fish, but we pulled someone into the marina that had been stranded. Would you be willing to share your secret spot or a round about area, I would sure like to get in on the fun…and store some up for the winter…Happy Fishing…[fishin]

Nice fish Wildcat! Sounds like the boils are on! When are you guys going to gang up on the boils again? Interested joining in on the corraling tactic. Willard and I just haven’t been able to get along (Skunk city), and the skeeters and I just don’t get along either. I’m the dude with the green and gold nitro, we talked at sportsmans earlier in the year.
