Well Tommy and I decided to hit Willard for a few hours this morning, so we launched at around 6:15. This was my first time fishing from my boat at Willard, so didnt really have a clue where to go so we just trolled around a bit. I hooked up with the first Wiper 30 minutes into the day then nothing but a few good hits for the next hour or so. I had one hit it 3 times (wasnt paying too much attention) and it finally said “well shucks if you are not going to reel me in, I am going to break your lure off your line” and sure enough he did, must have been a dandy!!![pirate] Anyhow, met up with a couple buddies out in the middle, they had one nice Wiper and we decided to head over towards the South Marina. When we got there I noticed 7-10 Wipers on top (fin out of the water) and shooting across the surface, never seen that before, would you consider that a boil? If so today is JUNE 21st!!! Anyhow, after seeing that I casted out about 3 times and hooked a nice Wiper and my buddy in the other boat reeled in a very nice FAT Walleye (forgot to take a picture of his). Anyway, I had to be off the water at 11:30 so we motored in. Totals for the day was two Wipers, 8 missed hits, one that got away (I think it was a walleye) and the one that stole my lure. So not too bad!!! That will be the last time I get to fish with Tommy for a while since he is moving to Las Vegas, but we will meet up and hit Lake Mead or Powell.

Glad to hear you got into the wipers, sounds like a great day.[fishin] Remind me to give you the 50# box of fishing tackle that Bigbassaholic gave me to give to you to give to the troops.[;)]

Nice job, Justin! At least you can say you’ve caught a Wiper! We’ll have to get out on the water this next month.
Just let me know Lavaman. I have caught Wipers before, but in Pueblo, Colorado and the ones that you catch out of Pueblo Reservoir average 10 lbs!!!
