I think that controlling the carp population through bowfishing and angling will help immensely with the quality of Cutler. Clearer water for other species to spawn and less competition for food. Just my 2 cents RP
It wouldn’t hurt cutler, but I’m not sure if it would help it. If it helped I’m sure they would show up at hyrum, mantua, bear lake and Willard. I think cutler’s problem is cover. It’s a great duck hunting spot, but could benefit by dumping christmas trees in the shallows. Bass, Crappie, and walleye need cover to ambush the prey. I’m not a fan of muskies, because I haven’t caught a crappie at pineview since they were big enough to eat. Something to munch on the mudders would be something I would put in there. What? I have no idea. I think the minnows are a great forage for the birds. I always shoot divers in cutler and I don’t want to destroy my bird and kitty haven. So maybe stock more ready to catch kitties.
Yup although I’m not too excited about your description. It would be nice to have a more reliable fish to be able to catch. Later J
there ya go the deleted has spoken, if i lived up north seems like a welcome addition and i am no amature biologist like the deleted, but it seems like it could work.then again with his vast knowledge it is probably just a hair brained idea like he stated.I like white bass and they can grow big and fight hard it would be cool if cutler was the place they did good in
I’ve noticed that in the spring and fall the water is getting clearer than it used to be and the fishing for crappie is much better then. But even without carp the river still picks up a lot of silt up west of Preston. Wish there was some way to help that problem. Later J
Do you mean bucket transfers. It would make it easier for them to move them to those other areas but I hope people have learned not to do that. Later j
