I’m trying to remember when Strawberry melts. Last time I was there was in the late fall and I got 25+ big juicy cutts. I’ve never caught so many fish anywhere in my whole life..
I know it was a fluke, but I’m sure it’ll keep me comin’ back there for years !!
Anyway, if any of you guys can tell me when Ice-Off usually happens up at Strawberry, I would be very gratefull..

Depending on weather it is sometime in May.
only 25, you must have only fished for a few hours. in the late fall I have caught over 30 fish in a 30 yard strech on twister tails. the berry can be awesome in the fall time, shoot ducks and fish at the same time, couldn’t ask for much more. later chuck
Usually the ice is gone by mother’s day weekend.
I usually plan on going up there the second weekend of May. Every time I have gone then, it has been ice free and the fishing is awesome.
It all depends on the weather. Over the last 6-7 years it has been anywhere from the beginning of April to the end of May…and everywhere in between.
Ice off is very hit and miss. Last year ice off was a bust up there in my opinion. Still fish to be had, but not like other years. Some years it’s epic, others it just never turns on. Strawberry is a weird place like that.
