All I can say is, when you have an extra hour go fishing. Hit the weber, at the bridge before you go up the canyon today. I was going to fly fish, with some new streamers I tied, but the willows were a little to thick right there. So, I hadn’t taken the mepps spinner off my spinning rod yet and thought I’d give it a try.
On the fifth cast BANG!!! Fish on! The currant was strong so it felt like a moose. Played it for 4-5 minutes (glad i brought my net) and landed a nice brown. She was very healthy and ready to spawn. Took a quick pict and sent her home.

Best guess, 22-23"s and 3-4 pounds. Biggest fish to date on the Weber. Glad I took my advise and went fishing, even though I only had an hour.
Nice job, good on ya. So what did you bring home for dinner? So where’s the whities? Glad you put back the brownie! Whities are better eatun anyway. Also went today, 2 duckies (I don’t shoot anymore than dinner) and a selection of whities, brownies, and rainbows. Largest was the rainbow at about 18-19 in. All fishies on the “prince”.
It was all about quality today. Only 2 browns and no white fish. I wasn’t really targeting them this trip. As it continues to get colder I’ll hit the bridge by the Preston Stoddard exit and that’s where I get in to the white fish. I stopped counting after 30 one trip.
