Well done Bob!

Thank you for the kind words. I was just a bit player in this. The real work in making this happen was Rep Lynn Hemingway. Please take the time to send him a thank you email; I already have. He can be reached at lhemingway@le.utah.gov

God Bless our Veterans!

Bob, I tried your link but it didn’t work.
Could you see if it is correct?
Thanks,
Dale.

It worked for me Dale. But I changed it anyway. Try it now.

Thanks Bob. I saw this in the news yesterday and thought I’ll have to thank this guy I’ve never met for helping me and the other Disabled Vet outs. Thanks again!

Nice work Bob. That’s the spirit.

If we still have the older style parks special fun tag do you know if we can still use it or do we need to get a new one?

I do still have my old one and use it (we were grandfathered so we could, but no new ones would be issued) and it has been accepted to date. When the new law kicks in (July 1 if the Governor signs it), I don’t know if that will still be the case. I guess I should pull up the bill and read it.

Okay, I pulled up th requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to state parks for certain disabled veteranse bill (H.B. 135 State Parks Fee Exemption Amendments) and read it. It requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to state parks for certain disabled veterans. The Board shall adopt rules granting free admission to state parks to an honorably discharged veteran who is a resident of the state, at least 50% disabled, as evidenced by documentation from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, an active component of the United States armed forces, or a reserve component of the United States armed forces. Nothing in the bill speaks to the old fun tag or the new device, whatever that might be. The requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to state parks for certain disabled veterans requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to state parks for certain disabled veterans requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to state parks for certain disabled veterans requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to state parks for certain disabled veteransBoard of Parks and Recreation will have to determine all that AFTER the Governor signs the bill into law. The bill was sent to the governor’s office on March 16, 2016. No indication that he has signed it yet.

I used mine all last year without issue as well, so I hope I don’t need to make a special trip to the DNR office come July.
