I been parking to the west of the pumphouse and not in the RC parking lot , but I hear it is closer to walk from . Hey it was my first time fishing there and all the “NO TRESPASSING” signs had me worried . I first when out the first channel and walked all the way around and found the pumphouse and seen everyone there . After punching several holes to only find 2’ of water out 100 yards from shore I was glad to find 6’ in the channel . I hit it today too . I caught 2 crappie at 10" and a 12" white Bass . Same guy that was there yesterday was there also and he caught 5 crappie . I missed more hits than I hooked , but it seemed a lot slower today . Maybe the evening bite was the better time to get there but I left at 3:00 pm .
Ice is about 10" thick . I do believe I walked up to several small springs out in the main lake . I figured it can’t be that deep after hitting mud several times testing the ice , but I had no problem getting close to the small opening in water . But by all means be careful out there .
Yeah, I havent been out for panfish for two months now and I’m starting to get the itch, thanks for the info HellsAngler69. Ive been going down to kidney pond because it has ice. We should have a BFT get together there before the ice comes off, the fishing is quite good at some times. The fish arent huge, but hey, its probably the best fishing I’ll get outa there all year. Last year I didnt even catch a trout, just channels. If anyone near there wants to head down, let me know and I’ll try to come down, I know just those fishies want. One day we got 35 in two hours!

where is kidney pond ?
Last time I hit the springs at lincoln beach the ice was anywhere from 10-12" thick. I live in orem on 800 S over by Orem blvd. Where did you go fishing? Hey are you related to Dennis Greer. He teaches accounting at UVSC. If so I took some classes from him.

Kidney pond is the urban fishery right next to the Jordan River on about 11300 S. It’s the smaller of the two ponds (the one farthest to the south).
