Hit the big pond today. Got a late start not sure where to go EC or UT. L and the lane closures on I 15 slow me down.
On the water about 1stoped at my white bass spot it was on fire till about 4 then they just about shut down on me only a few wanted to play. Then we went cat hunting did well for awhile boated about 5 and called it quits about 5.
Between catching whites put the 2 pole permit to use and rigged it for cats. Ended up with about 15 or so cats 2 bullheads and the rest were channels one biggie about 6 pounds or so. Had 3 other break off when I got caught up in the reeds. Didn’t count the white bass but it was nonstop for 3 hours.
Met Beggin4Bass on the water and talked with him for a bit and at the ramp. Thanks for the big cat tips will put them to use later this summer. hopefully can get out sometime together[fishin]

Nice cats guys. Your white bass spot is also my favorite spot on the pond[;)]. It was nice of you to share it with me. I almost asked if you were on BFT. I was the guy out there with my wife and the two dogs. Nice meeting you… even though I didn’t know it was you at the time.
It was cool to have you and talk about the dogs, hunting and fishing. Most of the cats were caught there at the spot but on the westside. I caught the big cat where you were anchored. Did leave for home or try some different spots. My other WB spot is dead. We did find a nice cat spot after the bass shut down. Nice meeting you also, good[fishin]
Deepcycle, It was nice meeting you yesterday. Thanks again for the help at the ramp. I usually do better than that. Where is the photo of the big cat? I saw you took a picture but its not here. Just you let you know, your light is out on the right side of your trailer. Noticed it on the way home. We will have to get together soon either Utah Lake or Lake X. Hey Allen, it’s great to hear you are getting out and after those big cats. Hope you are doing well. Was gonna take my kids out on Friday but my daughter wasn’t up for it. Maybe next time. I look forward to getting them into the crawdads at Strawberry in a few weeks. They should be coming in close to shore soon if not now…
Wow, I keep ready all these Utah lake updates and don’t understand, the Lincoln Beach area Saturday was dead! didn’t see anyone catching fish expect for a few cats. NO BASS. What was the deal! we hit our usual hot spots from the warm spring area by the L- all the way down towards goshen bay, we fished the rocks, we fished the flats, we fished the inlet at the slough, NADA. couldn’t figure it out on our end. Any others experience this also or are we just lousy fishermen!!!

It was a nice fish hope I can do better later on this year and top 10lbs. I made some suggestions on the PM where to go this week let me know what you think?
Are you bank or boat fishing? I don’t go that far south to fish that often. But fishing from a boat could make the difference being outside or inside and casting into the reeds in pockets or openings about a foot away from the reeds.
Changes baits till you find what the fish want, I will take 3 or 4 baits. Move around which it sounds like you did that. I will find a great spot and go back a week later and nothing sometimes. Hope this helps some. Good[fishin] DC!
