LOW elevation, maybe Swift Creek, Lily Lake. Maybe. To early.
we caught 50 between three guys at mirror yesterday flyfishing
If I read your post right, you’re looking to take them on an over night pack trip? Crystal lake is a short but yet beautiful hike and lake. There are numerous lakes nearby all provide great fishing for brookies. Also, I wish I had an uncle as cool as you when I was growing up.

I’ve been there a half dozen times or so. I’ve been lucky, but two of my freinds have sustained severe sprains while scaling back down that steep SOB. They were angry with me for even talking them into going up there. “Those fish are safe from me from now on” they said. “Never again”
I’ll probably go back this year. Hell-bent for diaper rash I guess.
Brookie man is right, very straight up, about a mile to a mile and half. You didn’t mention age of twins. A little lighter fair would be anything out of the Crystal Lake Trail head, my choice would be Pot or Wier, but need route finding skills.
I definately would recommend Crystal Lake trailhead. Long Lake or Duck Lake are fairly easy hikes. I was at the trailhead parking lot Monday and it was clear but there were some snow drifts on the trail that we went around or over.
