Ok I am and am not really new to Utah. I just got out of the military and and been here for almost 6 years now. I been fishing a few places around Utah and had luck just about everywhere I went. It just been last summer I got into using a float tube to fish some of the reseviors around here and been cat fishing around Lindon Harbor. Me and a friend are talkin about this Saturday pending on weather and gas money dropin the tubes in Utah Lake to do some fishing. So I was woundering if there was any place a little better than Lindon Harbor to drop the tubes in. I won’t ask for exzact bass locations or anything like that just a good spot to drop a tube in with out many boats or a really big open water area for I don’t feel like fighting wake or a long trip to get to any place. So if it is possible to get some location tips for easy access and movement it would highly be appriceated.

Tubedude has some extremely informative write-ups on Utah Lake.. He’ll take you all the way around the lake in them.. ask nice and he’ll probably send them to you.
I am comin from the north yes. I would love to get into some large mouths or walleye but to be honest i could care less as long as i can hook something. It is all fun to me. I just love to get out and have a good time.
Oh I own my own tube and all the gear i need lol I was hopen to drop on the lake last Sunday but weather kinda bogged me down on that. So i ended up fishin from the bank hookin in a small white bass up by the boat ramp at Lindon. Plus I don’t like invading another person’s fishin spot alot of times i rather go out and try to locate on my own if I can. To be honest somereason I feel like i intrude when it comes to fishin someone else’s honey hole. I just need to be pointed in a direction if there is fish i will find them some reason i always do and it ticks my friend off lol.

Not sure I would recommend Lindon area. I have fished it twice since iceout and have not done well there yet. It usually gets a lot better about mid April.
My recommendation would be to fish the flats to the south of the boat channel at Lincoln Beach. I am attaching a map, as well as some other info on the lake in general.
We have lots of tubing “floatillas” through the year. In fact, we will be having one this Saturday at the north marina on Willard Bay. You would be welcome to join us.
Thanks for the map and the info about Saturday. If my buddy is up to it we may head up to Willard and join in on the fun. Its been a while sense i fished willard i kinda strayed from there after havin a few jet skies and water skiers almost hit me and cross over my lines causin me to lose a few fish and good rattletraps. But I don’t think i should have that problem this early in the season.

The low water levels of the past year have had a big impact on the POWER SQUADRON. Now they go to Pineview or other spots and we don’t have as many to dodge.
There is still ice on much of the lake so about the only boats will be anglers. Sometimes the boating anglers can be worse than skiers though. When you are in a tube some of them think you are not a serious angler and not worthy of sportsmanship. I have had them literally bounce against my tube as they trolled by…completely ignoring me. Yeah Right.
There will almost certainly be some good eatin’ size kitties on tap, and maybe even a chilly wiper or two.
I would probably hit Lincoln Beach myself, if I had any faith in the fishing. It has been too slow so far this year. Maybe by next week.
Yeah I know Willard has alot of ice on it still me and my buddy were up there last weekend around the south west side and all we saw was a sheet of ice. But now it is a debate Willard or Utah Lake. So now it is the coin flip desicion to find out where i am goin. I am in some real debate at where to go which is also half the fun of the game lol. I know where ever I end up it will be fun still.

That is the way I view it all the time. I look at it also as a good way for new learning. As I said earlier I been here for about 6 years now. I originally grew up in WV fishin for small mouth bass and large mouth bass every day and fishin for cats every night. It was kinda fun to come out here and learn about trout fishing and fishing through the ice which i did this year and had a blast at. I also never really trolled for fish like my friends taught me out here so I am learning still of new ways and always open and willing to advice and criticism. Plus it kinda fun to restock my boxes with new gear i never used before and learn to use. As I also said it just was last summer i got my first float tube to use. It was fun and diffrent for me to do. I am use to wading, using a boat, and bank fishing so I was really excited to get in the tube and go where i couldn’t wade to or get a boat into.
