Trial Lake 11/19

Decided to hit trial lake with Luv2hookem. We arrived at 9:30 fished till 1:30. Ice was 4" thick. I landed 4 fish before he even got his pole in the water! It was quick action all day, between both of us we were landing 25+ fish per hour. All the fish were 4"-10" we managed to land a few over 13". We caught only 7 albinos and 5 tigers the rest were rainbows and brooks. I caught a 6" tiger that spit up a 2" minnow! (*see photo) It was great to hit the ice in November!

Not too shabby! The tiger looked skinny maybe he was just in a rush to fatten up before the food got away!

My dad and I went up to trial today we quit counting fish after fifty they will hit anything you throw in the water it seems

Nice Fish! Sounds like fun!

I want to head up there on Saturday. Any hints on what to bring or what to use as bait? Also, will a two wheel drive vehicle make it or do I need to take the truck?

Thanks,
Hope

I was using rat finky with half a meal worm. any small jig with a little meat on it will work just fine. A two wheel drive might have a hard time on the turn off from the main road.

I haven’t been up there for so long. Are the roads snow packed? Is it possible to park on the road and walk up to Trial? If so, how long the walk? Appreciate any info. We were planning to go the the Nelle but ???
