Went out to the view today looking for some more largemouth but found to many muskie’s. I caught a couple largemouth, lots of smallies and here’s the kicker, I got two muskie in the boat and had four more cut my line. Were the heck is lunkerhunter2 when you need him, I am a bass guy not a muskie fisherman. Any how I was by my self so I only took a couple pictures so here you go. LMB was 4.3lbs, Muskie was 36-37 inch I couldn’t get him to hold still for exact measurement, and the smallie was 2lbs 16.5 in.
When i pulled in there([;)]) saturday there was already 2 boats and 3 bankers fishing it. We need to swap secrets dude![;)]

[crazy]ok i wont ask where but at least share WHAT attracted them enough to get them muskie bites. I live 15 min from pineview and have been up there 2 times this year both in this month, got my first skunk of the year there [:(] heck i dont even know where to start fishing that body of humans, oops i mean water. lol even the evenings that i went the human skeeters were out in full force even after school started. One thing i havent tried yet is getting up there early morning i hear thats the best time. Any help with lures and location would be greatly appreciated but i dont want you to give up any ancient fishing secrets, Lord Forbid!![sly] Great fish and thanks for sharing.
If you stop using power bait then maybe you wont get skunked. J/K I always have to give trout trollers I mean fisherman/women crap. I was using a new technique I picked up in Alabama this spring so any good bass fisherman should pick that one up quick or do some research. Giving anyone a location on that lake is worthless because the water drops to quick to often. The place where I was picking up all those big smallie’s is gone not to mention the big rock shore on cemetery point is completely out of the water. O well is just makes it that much funnier to find new spots every time I go out.

Funny she has the same name as I do, but anyway I have to chime in on your guys/gals little conversation (even though I know you are messing with each other). Matt I know you love to target Bass, but why would you want to say you’re only good at catching one species of fish??? We are called fisherman, not “Bassman”, “Troutman”, or “Walleyeman”, yeah my name on here is “trout_slayer”, but there is a reason for that. All in all I love fishing no matter what species, as long as my rod stays bent (not from snagging the bottom, Schoon) than I am content. I went FISHING this past weekend in Idaho, not targeting any specific fish and ended up with LMB, Trout, Crappie, and Bluegill and I was happier than a two peckered billy goat I tell you!!![;)]

Don’t lose any sleep over the answers (non-answers) you get from bassaholics. They are almost worse than fly flingers for trying to make their sport something deep, dark and mysterious to scare off any potential newbies.
The honest truth? Most bass are stupid and will hit almost anything that gets within’ munchin’ range. Same with tiger muskies…if they are in an active feeding mode. Just as with walleyes there are probably more bass and tigers caught by accident than by design. The “chuck and chance it” crowd catch just as many as the “pros”. If you find them, and put something in front of them, you can get bit.
Now, all that being said, they REALLY CAN be difficult at times. Even the experts get blanked…or severely humbled. But, heck, that is no different than fishing for trout. Right?
It really helps to go with someone who both knows the lake and what offerings to throw for best results. That will help you get a feel for the type of structure to look for, and where and how to toss your lures. It will also help you minimize the amount of money you spend on tackle to become a basser. On most trips you can carry all you need in one small box. But, most addicticated bassaholics carry a metric ton of gear on every outing…just in case.
Depending upon the time of year, the water temperature, the time of day and what kind of shoreline or structure you are fishing, you can get by with a few Rapalas, some spinners, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and some plastics…with and without jigheads. Fishing them is not unlike fishing for trout with lures. Cast to a likely looking spot and use varying retrieves until you get bit…or discouraged. Then move on.
There are hundreds of books and videos on bass fishing. No way we could cover even a fraction of the variables in lures, presentations, etc. in one post. Fire up your search engine and do some online research to pick up some of the lingo and the basics. Then, beg or threaten one of the Pineview “experts” to climb in a boat with you and show you some of the better areas around the lake. After that it is a matter of practice and observation. Once you learn enough to know what you are supposed to be doing, you just keep doing it until you get it right.

Your so right fishing keeps me humble[angelic] but it also can impair going thru a door when your head is so big from catching your limit every time you go out. hehe Pineview was my piece of humble pie and i choked down every bit of it. I am glad to see that everyone’s opinion can come out on BFT. Trowtslayr you might get a better response from people if you send them a Private message, its worked for me once. Just ask Leaky, I’ve done my best to put him on some fish any time he ask me privately. Bass fishing is tough because you normally don’t find them all over the lake, their a structure depended fish and right now the only structure in Pineview is rock/gravel. Good luck.
Dont forget about the occasional dead body or moose/deer/elk carcus at the bottom of the lake, that makes for excellent food and structure!!!
