So since I started fly fishing from my tube and ‘toon and went from a 5’ rod to a 9’ one, I found that my net was lacking…

No problem! I slit a couple of sections out of a piece of (what else?) PVC, slid the handle in, and wrapped it up. Wrapped the other end to make a nice rope handle.

Voila! Tested it out today and it worked like a champ!

Anything made from PVC gets my vote.
