Yesterday I caught 6 sturgeon in my inflatable Steelheader pontoon boat. The first one was over 6 foot long and I got it on a trout rod. When I went to release it I grabbed it’s lip and the thing went nuts flipped over tore my rod apart and broke my 50 pound leader.

I had a LMB the other evening, fought so hard to the last, even when I was trying to unhook him. I didn’t have the heart to keep him after such a valiant effort to survive LoL.
Thats the first time I have seen that happen before. If they start fighting while they are on their back on a regular basis, it will make things a lot more interesting…and wet.
First I’ve seen of a strugy going nuts after it’s been belly up!

Have you found the sweet spot in the sweet spot? Three of us caught 19 in 2 hours (on more than one occasion), sometimes doubles and once even a triple. If you see me there when the water comes up, come over and tie up to Gertrude and get a way point.

PS: After a real close call, I never get on the Snake without an inflatable suspender pfd. It happens fast!
I think I have. Every time I have been there I have had to shear it with someone else. With all of us we landed between 15 and 20 but not in 2 hours WOW.
I will if I can remember. I am easy to see if you see me yell at me. The only problem is I can’t get there if the river at twin Falls is above 1000 cfs. That first set of rapids is too fast for me to get through. I went there at 2000 and could not make it through and couldn’t portage. I have to Portage to get to Sugar cube creek. It is tough to drag a boat the size of mine through there.
