went out tonight and found the ice to be slushy and wet 8-12 inch’s of water on top and looked real crapy at the shore. Maybe better in the day or if it gets cold again.
FISH ON!
Well that is too bad but it is that time of the year. In years past, when the ice was getting bad, I would just walk out on the docks at the port ramp, drill a hole and stand on the docks and fish. What part of the lake did you check?
It was night and we checked the narrows and cemetery point! It might be better in the day but for me I am setting up my box for spring! got a new Pflueger Asaro 6ft yesterday and cant wait to fish some open water like Ul or williard! Im excited hank!
FISH ON!
We fished the Port Ramp dock area yesterday…I’d say maybe 100’ off the docks to the east. Port Ramp access shorelines are get’n nasty…at the end of the day when we walked back in we were I’d say 15-20’ from shore wondering how ‘iffy’ the ice was underneath as it was standing water for the most part on top. Trudged forward and we walked through roughly 6-8" of water and almost water snow mixture didn’t bust through…mind you we don’t weigh as much as Men. So if you want to try the Port Ramp and fish off the docks be very mindful/careful and especially don’t go alone. if tak’n young’ns WATCH them and keep them on the DOCKS.
