The provo roaring but very good...

Started my new job at sportsmans, after work headed to the provo river. Fished the glen canyon park about 3 miles up the provo canyon. Put on the rapala size 7 in rainbow. The river was so high, which i already knew. But said oh well i;m sick of fishing the river below the dam at the mouth. I could only fish the far right of the river. And i knew they would be hugging the bank. It was fast and furious. I bet only a handful of brave souls have fished it in the last month due to water levels. It was one hell of a workout. I caught 5 nice browns ranging from 14-16 inches. Lost 5 that i hooked and they spat the lure at me. One was really nice probably 17 or 18 inches. I never hear anyone post on fishing the lower provo below olmstead. I fish it 2 times a week at least. wondering if there are any bft’ers that fish it?

hey twolves..
my brother used to fish the Prove all the time. I’ll ask him next time I talk to him. Like you, he always had luck using a rainbow rapala -wading out and casting to the opposite shore.

I fish below olmstead and even below murdock alllll the time–I just don’t post about it–trying to keep it a little more to myself. Yes, the river has been really high–pm me and we could discuss some other spots I like to fish in the lower end of the canyon.

Oh yeah, I was going to ask, did you get a job at the Sportsman’s in Provo? I work about 200yds from there and spend many a lunch hour perusing the shelves.
