All i can say WOW!. If you get a chance to cast one I incourage it. I got my first fish on the 4 pc 590 monday on the weber the action on this master piece theres no words to describe it!
I bought an XP 590 last summer and loved it but when I looked at their website after reading your post I could not find the XP on the website… did the Z-axis replace the XP… I think I will get one of those here in a few months.. I love sage rods
No more XP’s. Hang on to yours and get another at a low price. They’ll be going the way of the LL’s.
I am basically Orvis, but I do own a Sage LL and it is too sweet!
I might get around to trying the Axis. I tried the GLX by Loomis and I really like that, but I got so many rods already and just add one more custom built to my list for Christmas.

They don’t make the LL anymore, but it is one of the sweetest rods that Sage built. It is a nice med to med/fast rod.
I have a 2wt and I love using it on the middle Provo. It sets the hook nice and you don’t break the smaller tippet with it.
LL was the light line series. A lot of Sage owners said it was the best rod they ever made. Then- Sage drops it. Highly sought after rod.

Hey Flygodess (or anyone else)
Since your an Orvis fan, do you have or have you fished with the new Zero Gravity rods? I have one TLS and one T3 rod and like them both. The T3 is my favorite rod. I got them both on sale for substantially less than list price but I doubt the Zero Gravity rods will be going on sale any time soon and was wondering if it’s worth splurging on?
I do, I have the 9’ 6wt. four piece mid-flex 7.5 (basically cause I heard they were a faster rod)
It is faster, more comparable to an 8.0 and higher.
I absolutly love this rod. It is not only beautiful but light, and very responsive.
I will compare it to the feel of the Streamdance GLX with the GLX being a little faster, but both are crisp if that makes sense.
Would I buy another…in a heart beat.
