Hit the local J-R and score big time jigging for white bass and may be an eye. Had two poles one jigging and other set line for golden trout and score on 3 types of fish one being the biggest white bass I’ve ever seen and caught. See pics, I’m wondering when the cats will come out to play. Anyone having luck??
My boy wants to go fishing after school today, any chance you could IM me where abouts you were fishing?
We may try the outlet of UT Lake or by Willow park.
I have fished near willow park by the bridge just down the street. Not winchester, but the one just north of it. Did pretty well, mostly catching suckers, with a few whites and even one small LMB. Pumps are always good place especially for the kids.
Nice report, I love seeing pictures. I am a bass fishing addict, I will do whatever and go where ever to fish for bass. As Strange as it sounds I want to catch some of those suckers. How and where do you catch them? Send me a pm if you want.
I just moved to Lehi last year so I’m not yet familiar with all the hotspots of the area. Was the bridge you were talking about the one next to the model airplane airport? Also, where are the pumps?
I fished the lake last weekend for a really short period of time and picked up one perch on a drop shot. I don’t even know how to explain where I was. It was just up from the model airplane airport and right next to some building where the water dumps out of the lake. Pumps maybe?
Any help on where to go for some whites would really be appreciated. I’m also addicted to bass!
The area you were at is commonly called the Pumphouse. It is the outlet of UT lake and the beginning of the Jordon river. You can also fish above the dam on the lake side.
You can fish from the UT lake dam all the way down past the Model Airplane Park. There is often a good number of people fishing there. You can expect to catch White bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Cats, Bullheads, Carp and the occasional LMB.
You can use the bike trail as a route along the river all the way to where Lehi’s main street crosses the river by the abandoned steel bridge and arther downstream to Willow Park.
In the next few weeks there will be bucketfuls of white bass taken from just below the dam. People line up there and throw small jigs or spinners to them.
Great information! Thank you! I live about two seconds away from there so I think I will have to give it a try. I also have access to my dads duck boat for the summer so I was planning on hittin the lake with that.
I’m guessing the rivier is good using small curly tails or tubes? Are they picky about color?
Thanks again for the info. I’m not new to fishing but I am new to the area so this info is very handy.
