The eye bite has begun at Willard

While you can’t get a genuine TD Flig any longer, you can “make do” by threading a foam earplug on your line and snug it down against the hook knot.

Tip: Use a long cotter pin (or even a folded piece of thin wire). Thread your leader through the end loop, push the cotter pin through the ear plug, taking the leader with it.

While I don’t make them anymore, I have left some PDF files that will serve as an explanation and introduction to “Fligonometry”…including how to make them and fish them.  Hope this helps.  Plus, here is a LINK TO VIDEO on flig making

Thanks Pat, I was hoping you would chime in.

Got out on Willard this morning with Ira and Alan around 7:30 am. We had plans to Bottom bounce but also put out some fligs to see if that would work better but the BBer ruled today. First fish of the day was a walleye and we were hoping that was the first of many but that was it. We did end up picking up 5 cats, the biggest was almost 24", all on night crawlers. We left around 2pm,water temp war 47 when we arrive and was up to 50 when we were getting off the water. I talked to a couple of bass guys that were working the shore line and they also got one eye today. My guess, with the warm up coming next week, the eye fishing will improve as well. No pics on this trip.
