Fished Strawberry with my wife and daughter on Saturday. I wanted to leave at 3:30 a.m. but was lucky to be able to leave at 5:30 a.m. We arrived and were launching around 7:30 and saw MGB launching. I went over and we chatted a minute, talking strategies, then we headed off towards the Strawberry River inlet. We got there and right off the bat started having a real bad day as I got my jig stuck in my anchor rope. Come to find out my day wasn’t near as bad as Kent’s the day before, as I never fell in not even once! (Sorry Kent, after reading your post I had to say something…[angelic]) Anyway, we fished about an hour and caught only 3 fish, so I called MGB to get his report. I left him a voicemail and he returned my call a few minutes later and told me where the honey hole was. Long story short, we joined MGB and his partner and we ended up with around 33 fish for the day. Thanks Mike! At one point we heard some whooping and hollering coming from MGB’s boat and looked over and saw them horsing in a real toad! I don’t want to steal their thunder so I’ll let him post up the story on that one!
All the fish caught in my boat were Cutts, every single one was in the slot. Weather was great, got pretty windy in the afternoon, but other than that a great day.

Randy, you should have tried your honey hole. We tried it around 2:00 PM and for a few minutes the fishing was red hot. I was sorry that we didn’t head there first thing in the AM; however, even then it would have been after 9:00 AM.
“.Randy, you should have tried your honey hole.”
Funny you should say that…that is right where MGB told us the hot spot was! It has been cold all summer there and was glad to see it pick up again. I told my wife the same thing…wish we would have been there first thing in the morning!
