My Son and I went up to the Berry today , started off right away bad. I hadn’t gotten very far when I relized that I had forgotten my Cold Weather Jackets and Sweatshirts. ( Strike One )Then I was asking my son if he had remembered the propane bottle for the heater , Ahhhh No was the answer. ( Strike Two ) Then the best one yet, we were talking about what kind of bait I had gotten for us to use and remembered that I had forgotten that in the fridge at home- Thank God for Maverik Heber City. ( Strike three. )
We finally made it to the Berry , set up the tent and started fishing. I landed one about 13 inches around 10:30 am and that was the only one we got all day. it was a very slow day . We were fishing just off the Marina in about 20ft . caught the one on a Genz Glow bug with an Orange Gizzy Bug and some wax worms.
We’ll try again next week. Also the Temp was 2 degrees when we got to the marina.
Sounds like a bummer trip Dan, at least you did not fall into your ice hole[;)] like I did last week and you caught at least one fish. I hope you have better luck next week.
The poor catch rate today could have been because of a bad location. The next time we'll try another spot. There were a lot of people there in the morning , but by about 1:oo PM they were pretty well gone.
