So my shift starts this morning with rain showers, which quickly kill the day and we have to shut down. Spur of the moment, I decide to hit the river. With the front moving in, I didnt really expect a lot to happen, and overall it was slow.<br />The first spot I set up I had marked a good fish in, but after 30 minutes I gave it up and moved. the next two spots didnt reveal much of anything. On the last spot, I set up and throw 4 baits out.<br />Within 5 minutes, dinkys start hammering my baits. Aggrivated, I put a tiny chunk on to at least have a little action. I start draging the little 5 lbers in. Probably a dozen hit. The other 3 rods have large baits on in hopes of a big one.<br />Then the rod starts going down…"Another little bugar, come here ya little turd…ohhhhhhhh, big turd!!!" emoTeacher <br />Wow, as the battle keeps going, the current increases to the point I know I wont get it in unless I loose the anchor. I finally tie a life jacket to the rope and get over the fish already after about 35 min to get her up. <br />For sure past 50, then 60, then 70. After I get the first glimpse I know its an 80 plus. Finally I manage the net over her and I hit the gas to go get help.<br />At the ramp, I find plenty of people interested, and get a hand weighing her. A scale on a pole between two people is really hard to read with that much weight, but it was bouncing right at about 90 lbs or so.<br />my 74 lb PB Blue cat has stood since march of 2012, and really took a hit with this one. Im going to call it a honest 85 for any error. Her length was at 59 inches and girth was 35. If this fish was filled out I'm certain it would have been 100 plus. <br />After getting slimed really good, the ol gal was off to the depths to fill out on bass emoBigsmile <br />After that I go anchor up to my rope again and get a 33, and a 20. All hit the tiny baits… emoScratch <br />Erics mojo was still left in the boat this morning, and was glad to have it!
