I need a new float tube. Should I pay the extra for the Super Fat Cat or stick with the Fish Cat 4. Let me know. Thank you in advance for your responses.
Try the float tube board they could help you more + TD should help you as well…
Superfat Cat, dude. They are awesome. TD uses them, and after going to another type, went back to the Super Fatcat. I’m either gonna get one of those next Spring or a pontoon w/trolling motor.
Go with the super unless you plan on packing it. I own the FC4 and love it but you know what they say.. the bigger the better!!!
You found us on the “dark side” (float tubing board), and hopefully we have helped with your decision making process. For the benefit of any other tubers…or potential tubers…I will post my reply from the FT board here.
"In a nutshell, the FishCat4 is a smaller and less costly craft…with vinyl air bladders and Boston valves. It will do a fine job of floating someone up to 200 pounds, with gear, but has smaller pockets, etc.

The Fat Cat is a foam seat version of the Super Fat Cat…which has inflatable seats. The Fat Cats have urethane bladders (better) and better valves. They also have more pocket space and are better for big tubers (over 250#).
If you can find a good deal online, and you are going to be tubing more than once or twice a year, go for the Fat Cat…regular or Super. A much better ride for most folks.
You might also read the chatter about the H3 Freestyle, by North Fork Outdoors. A bit pricey but the best quality available. "[/#0000ff]
