Well, the boat has been in dry dock since I broke my collar bone into a million pieces late June… Was sitting at the U of U football game saturday watching them destroy the WSU cougar JV team under clear and warm skies thinking, I would much rather be on the lake…
The boys and I slept in and hit Jordanelle at 11 Sunday. There were 3 boat trailers in the parking lot… never seen it so deserted… does everybody know something that I dont know??? well… we got the boat on the water with out incident (always a good thing) and started off trolling the north end of the lake… we ended up trolling the entire perimeter of the lake… over to the channel, across the dam.. and back to the dock… didnt seem to matter where we where the fish were there too… 5 hours of beautiful weather, good company, and good fishing… ended up catching 25 fish in the 5 hours… including 5 nice browns… (all of which were returned to the lake to fight another day) kept a few bows for fish tacos tonight…
My 15 year old son had been missing out on the action a bit… just seemed to have a bad stink on his pole most of the day and he was getting kind of butt hurt about it when his line went crazy… ended up reeling in the biggest fish of the day.. nice rainbow in the pic…
we trolled needlefish 4 colors down on leaded lines… didnt really mattter which color but gold seemed to do the best…
supposed to be the last of the good weather next couple of days… its hard to beat a day like that on Jordanelle…in fact… think i feel a case of the trout flu coming on.. cough cough…
