Sunday at Jordanelle couldnt have been better

Well, the boat has been in dry dock since I broke my collar bone into a million pieces late June… Was sitting at the U of U football game saturday watching them destroy the WSU cougar JV team under clear and warm skies thinking, I would much rather be on the lake…
The boys and I slept in and hit Jordanelle at 11 Sunday. There were 3 boat trailers in the parking lot… never seen it so deserted… does everybody know something that I dont know??? well… we got the boat on the water with out incident (always a good thing) and started off trolling the north end of the lake… we ended up trolling the entire perimeter of the lake… over to the channel, across the dam.. and back to the dock… didnt seem to matter where we where the fish were there too… 5 hours of beautiful weather, good company, and good fishing… ended up catching 25 fish in the 5 hours… including 5 nice browns… (all of which were returned to the lake to fight another day) kept a few bows for fish tacos tonight…
My 15 year old son had been missing out on the action a bit… just seemed to have a bad stink on his pole most of the day and he was getting kind of butt hurt about it when his line went crazy… ended up reeling in the biggest fish of the day.. nice rainbow in the pic…
we trolled needlefish 4 colors down on leaded lines… didnt really mattter which color but gold seemed to do the best…
supposed to be the last of the good weather next couple of days… its hard to beat a day like that on Jordanelle…in fact… think i feel a case of the trout flu coming on.. cough cough…

Welcome to BFT and sounds like you had a great day of catching.

Sounds like a great time and the weather sure was nice. I drove by twice yesterday on my way to the Uintas and didn’t see a boat on the water from my angle. Long time since that’s happened. All the traffic I saw with boats and float tubes seemed to be heading toward Strawberry.

Nice! Haven’t heard of too many awesome trout days on the nelle. Maybe I need to add some needle fish to my collection of tackle.

The bad stink was probably coming from his choice in college football teams. LOL

Nice Fish thanks for the pics. Looks like you had a greta time.

gotta be a utah fan… his dad played thee… dont think utah or BYU fans are lucky this year… guess the USU’s guys are probably the only ones with good karma this year…

forgot to mention water temps are still 50 degrees up there..

nice , report better change the hat to JD though.

rich

caught me… my JD hat is clean and perfect… that old alta hat is messed up and already has fish guts on it.. GO JD!!!
