What a nice day. In the middle of doing spring yard stuff I thought this %@$#&^% can wait. Hitch up the boat lets go to Willard bay. We got in around 2 pm. Besides the late hour the UT fish and wildlife were checking boats. I appriciate that. We passed but will be making adjustments. When the throttle hit the fire wall we turned towards the island. I saw tons of birds feeding. Thats a good sign. Also passed over areas of water that was very muddied. I hope it was only spawning carp. I may have missed an oppirtunity to catch fish. We trolled from the island to the light pole. On the first pass i got a crappie on. Tried to ski him in on his side but he got loose before the net. We worked the light pole area but other than some fishy hits we didnt get any more action. Oh for some more of this great weather. We were able to go out the north marina and graph 3 feet at the shallow hump. Time for less ice and more warm fishing. RF
Good to hear to got out there today Dan, too bad the catching wasn’t better. Did you get a close look at the crappie? It could have been a small wiper[;)].
It was a crappie. I was running the long line side planer with a jointed chartruse j5 rapalla down the shore line along the light pole. Some of the old wood they sunk is there. Just a little more heat and the lake will really start up.
