It’ll take me about a week and half to get up to speed on everything and coordinate the ongoing search indexing issues but I will be moving much of my attention to the forums after that.
Guys please post anything you would like to see fixed, suggestions, etc. on this post and I will circle back next week and start to prioritize them with the developers.
Mike, here are a few that immediately come to mind.
It is not uncommon for the site to be down, which obviously is not a good situation for a forum.
One should be able to hit the “Reply” button and not quote the message on the post that is being replied to.
If one clicks on the “Reply” button one has access to input “Smilies” into the reply. If one clicks on “New Reply” one does not have access to the “Smilies” to insert in the reply.
When clicking on a thread it would be extremely helpful if one was taken to the most recent replies (like the way the old site used to work), rather than to the top of the thread.
Good suggestions Kent, I really like 4. I’d also like to add that the picture format the forum uses causes my security features to strip most of the pictures from the posts and I can’t open the links to the photos. That may be my own problem, but it has sure limited my enjoyment of the forum. Not sure what the difference is with pictures like Obfishkenobi is posting on his Henry’s lake post, but I can see his photo’s, but not FastRandy’s. Would be nice if I could see all the photos.. Thanks.. Jeff
When you select “Next Oldest or Next Newest” at the bottom of the thread, you are taken to it and the last unseen reply. If there have been several replies on that page, there is nothing to show what the original post subject is about. I would like to have the title of the post shown maybe at the bottom of the page.
I would also like to see the date of the original post shown next to author’s name so that I don’t have to open the post (or is it thread) to see when the discussion was first started.
