Any ice condition reports on strawberry? Any info helps, thanks!
Just got back about a short while ago. Yes the slush is bad. The ice below it was fine. A few folks hit the slush this morning and had to turn around because they weren’t prepared for it. Sleds were getting around ok but ATVs didn’t get very far.
To add to what Barry said (fished right next to him) the slush is about 8 inches or so almost everywhere and in some places it is over 12 inches. One can walk on a crust of ice part of the time and then break through the crust and hit the pocket of slush. A four wheeler made it two feet off the end of the Strawberry Marina ramp and was stuck. BTW - catching was extremely slow all day long.
Any improvement after we left?
Nope, the slush was just as bad.
PS - the catching also continued to be slow.
