Strawberry Sat 9/27

Hit Strawberry early Saturday. Launched at Strawberry Bay Marina and went directly to Haws Point area. Trolled Rapalas and Z-Rays on the surface and picked up one smaller Cutt in the slot on the spoon. Changed to all Rapalas and got nothing else. Moved across the bay and caught a nice Bow about 17", then a nice Cutt in the slot. Fish seemed to be scattered and we had to move to find them. Went to the Ladders and trolled Rapalas and worm harnesess. Picked up a large Cutt that was stubborn and would not come to the boat, lots of line peeling runs. He did a long-distance release before we could get him close (arrgghhh…). Got one more 19" one there on the worm harness, then it quit. Moved to chicken Creek East to finish the day with a few more on Rapalas. All in the slot. The algae bloom is still on and the water seemed warm for this late in the year. Can’t wait for it to cool down and turn on…

Thanks for the report,If all you do is troll, try to troll closer to the shore or the weed line up in chicken creek, the fish are moving shallower.I’m talking 10’-15’ of water and get the lures away from the boat. 100’ is a good start.and troll really slow and keep your rapala’s just under the surface.
