looking for ice conditions on the berry? thanks for all of your help.
Fished the berry today. Only safe ice is on Soldier Creek side and Mud Creek. There were sheets of thin ice blowing all over the Strawberry side. Temps never got above 20 degrees but the sun and the breeze is keeping it from a good freeze. I would bet that there would be a good 2-3 inches of ice tomorrow in Strawberry Bay and CCE if it weren’t for this storm coming in tonight. If it dumps snow on top of thin ice, and temperature rises to the 30’s, that is a death trap. Anyone thinking about going in the next week at Strawberry be VERY careful. There was tons of open water on the Strawberry side. I highly recommend staying to the soldier creek side or the first few hundred yards of Mud Creek. There are plenty of areas of safe ice right now that it is not worth chancing it anywhere else if it snows tonight.
