Strawberry from the bank.

The wife and I are taking two of our grandsons (5 and 7 year olds) to Strawberry Tuesday - Friday. We will have to fish from the bank because I cannot take the trailer and boat at the same time.

Anyways, I’ve heard the moss is getting so bad that is going to make shore fishing almost impossible. I have’t been up there yet this year and was wondering where the best place to fish from the bank would be and not have so much trouble with the moss.

Plus fishing with two young boys is going to be a challenge in its self. Not looking for a honey hole just somewhere we might catch something and not fight the moss to much. I’ll probably have them fishing with a bobber and worm in the mornings and on the bottom the rest of the time.

Thanks.

If i would choose a place I would say soldier creek dam, not a far walk for the kids and you can catch planter bows there most if the time. I haven’t been to strawberry for few weeks so I could be off, but I would think thats a start.

We fished Chicken Creek west this past weekend. Walked east of the parking lot, maybe 300 yards along the bank. Caught all rainbows with garlic powerbait. Nothing real big, but they are fat. Did not have any problem with moss.
Good luck.
