There was one other truck in the marina parking lot when I left for across the lake this morning. There is a well traveled path towards Haws. Looks as good as if the groomer had been there. Made it to the meadows and started fishing in 40 ft of water. Took over a half an hour before any fish came by the finder. For the next two hours it was non stop catching cuts in the slot. All depths were good at times. It kept both poles busy at the same time for a while. About 1130 it turned off. Went to horse creek and picked up two more in the slot and it turned off. There were two trucks in the parking lot when I got back. No slush anywhere.
It was fun playing Ice Road Trucker on the road in and out of the marina. It is easily traveled in 2wd. The road to mud creek looked well traveled.
Am I reading you right? Were you using quads or were you taking you truck on the ice? In Michigan its very common but here in UT I havent heard of it yet.
Either way Im am glad to hear you did well by Haws Point. Plan on trying it a little later in the season.
Sorry for not being clear in the post. The only ice the truck saw was on the main road in to the marina.
Travel on the lake was by snowmobile.
Both the road in and the parking lot have been plowed out wider.

No, never been that far from home. I have read a bunch and spoke to a few peps.
I don’t think the ice is thick enough here for a 200% safety factor. Also seen plenty of pics from the internet of what happens to a truck on to thin of ice.[;)]
Still would like to know how it went with anyone here.
Last weekend at the gorge I saw a guy in a ford truck out on the ice. He was about 50 yards off the shore out on the ice. Ice was 15-16" thick in the area. He had bigger ones than me, to drive out on the hard deck!!! Crazy!!
