I was able to get out Friday. Jordanelle on a holiday wasn’t very appealing so I hit Strawberry. Didn’t get on the water until after 8 but managed to have a good morning. Lost #4 at the boat. That cutting board is 20x15. Seems to me that SB kokes are fatter than Jordy kokes for the same length. They were all caught on my big brass dodger with chartreuse/orange hoochie at around 30ft. Nothing on green or pink which surprised me. The big one peeled drag half way to Wyoming. Had to turn and chase him down.

Nice, glad to read you got into them, that big one is a good one for sure, bummer on losing #4 at the boat. Were there many other fisher folks there?

We were up there today. At 30’ the temperature was over 60F. 62-65 at the surface, 54.7F at 50’. We caught some cutthroats, no Kokes. Kokanee prefer 48F-54F water, so that’s where we fished. Should have started at 60F, I guess. Lesson learned.
When I fished deeper I just caught cutts too. Surface was 57 Friday up to about 60 at noon. At least according to my garmin which may be off.
I have an older model Fish Hawk, which reads temperature every 5’. You clip it onto your downrigger ball and drop it down, then retrieve it. You can then push the “View” button, and each press shows the temp 5’ deeper. We were at the right depth by temperature, but apparently not according to the fish.
