What a trip…
So we arrived at the marina at about 6:45AM, ready to launch. We loaded the boat up and unfortunately couldn’t get the motor to start. We had just bought the boat two weeks ago and was working perfectly last week. After 30 or so minutes of frustration, we decided to at least fish from the shore to make it a worthwhile trip.

Last week were catching everything on powerbait, so we decided to stick with what was working. After not getting any bites for the first 15 minutes, my friend and I headed over to where my brother was fishing because he had called me telling me he landed his first fish of the day. We headed over and man did it pick up from there. We were constantly getting bites and we had three double ons. We ended up catching 25 between the three of us and we probably lost about 12 more. All 25 were caught on powerbait, yes, on POWERBAIT. Man I love that stuff. All 25 were also Cutty’s within the slot.

After we got back to the car, we decided to attempt to start the motor again, just to see if it would start up. Yup, the motor started on the first attempt! We later realized what the problem was and were able to laugh about it, especially since we had just landed 25 fish from the shore using powerbait.

Glad yo hear that you salvaged your trip, However, do you wish to share with the rest of us why the boat wouldnt start or was it one of those moments that we choose not to talk about? Could it save any of us a trip?

Curious,

Let me guess the fuel line was disconnected!! Anyway at least you made a good day out of shore fishing

Aaaahhhhhh, the pleasures of owning a boat. Always an adventure, LMAO[crazy][angelic][crazy][angelic]

RileyFish,

The reason we believe we couldn’t get the motor to start up was due to the fact that the vent knob was not twisted open. I’m horrible when it comes to mechanics with autos, but I think since the vent wasn’t opened, the gas pump wasn’t even effective. So anyways, we messed with that and that seemed to be the problem. I’m just glad we don’t have to spend any money repairing the motor!

Sometimes it’s better when things don’t work out for the first time. [;)] It was a good day of catching.

Thanks for sharing. I have done that before myself so dont feel bad. At least your trip wasnt a total flop. Good on you all
